Q&A: I belong to a charismatic prayer group.  Does the Montfort Consecration to Jesus through Mary give any place to the Holy Spirit? If so, how can I introduce it to my group?

Does Montfort Give A Place to the Holy Spirit?

The spirituality of St. Louis de Montfort gives a preeminent role to the Holy Spirit. Judge for yourself from the following.

“God the Holy Spirit, being barren in God, that is, not producing another Divine Person, is become fruitful by Mary whom He has espoused. It was with her, in her and of her that He produces His masterpiece, which is God made man. And that He goes on producing daily, to the end of the world, the predestinate and the members of the body of the adorable Head. This is the reason why He, the Holy Spirit, the more He finds Mary, His dear and inseparable spouse, in any soul, the more active He becomes in producing Jesus Christ in that soul and that soul in Jesus Christ. . . .

“To Mary, His faithful spouse, God the Holy Spirit has communicated His unspeakable gifts; and He has chosen her to be the dispenser of all He possesses, in such short that she distributes to whom she wills, as she wills, as much as she wills, and when she wills, all His gifts and graces . . . “.

Montfortian Spirituality is incomprehensible without this stress on the role of the Holy Spirit and our Blessed Lady in producing Christ in our souls. Together, they brought Christ into the world at the Incarnation. And it is together that they will produce Christ in the souls of all mankind.
