Q&A: On the very first page of The Secret of Mary, St. Louis de Montfort states that he is confiding to the reader, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, on several conditions. That his secret that the reader communicates it only to those who deserve it by their prayers, their almsdeeds, etc. I would like to pass it on to others, but I cannot be certain in each case if the recipient passes all these requirements.

Who Is Deserving?

What St. Louis is referring to is this. If you know what we call a good practicing Catholic, then don’t hesitate to pass on “the secret.” Only God knows the precise spiritual condition of any one of us. But we are certainly able to judge at times that, let’s say a friend of ours, would appreciate the spiritual benefits that come from Montfort’s form of consecration to Jesus through Mary.
