What Are We Really Celebrating On the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows?

The   Feast we celebrate today is Our Lady of Sorrows.

The feast may be summarized within two verses of a song sang that day. Is there anyone who would not weep? Upon looking at her, is there anyone who would not weep?

Can the human heart refrain from the Blessed Mother’s pain? These are two verses from a song for the day. However, the truth is many Christians do not participate. In easy for Christians to live in indifference for all that Christ has done for us. It is easy to live and not be moved by all what Christ has done for us . . . when we do not think of His suffering for us!

It is easy for Christians to say Jesus has saved me but live in a way that indicates we do not believe that. We can be numb to what the Lord has done for us. We often do not appreciate what He did for all of us! Hear more in the homily.

This Feast is on the Catholic Calendar to address these issues. We look upon Our Lady . . . and see her tears, her grief . . . as a way to understand what the Lord has done for us!

Hear what we actually celebrate on this Feast Day. Appreciate what the Lord has done for us! Listen to this Meditation Media.
