The Lesson for Us of the Parable of the Prodigal Son … and 9/11

The Lesson for Us of the Parable of the Prodigal Son … and 9/11

In today’s Gospel we hear three parables, The Lost Sheep, The Lost Coin, and the parable of the Lost Son … the parable of the Prodigal Son.

The homily touches upon the first two parables, and explores the third in detail. We all know this parable. However, Christians often miss what Our Lord is really saying in this parable. Listen to this story within the context of this Homily.

On a day we celebrate the remembrance of those impacted on the anniversary of the September 11th’s events, understand what the lesson teaches us … especially on this day of remembrance.

At the end of the Homily, the cross you see in the picture … made from the actual steel from the fallen towers, was used to bless those in attendance.

Listen to how the parables and their lesson impacts our spiritual journey.
