The Association of Mary, Queen of All Hearts

Q&A: Since I have recently made my Act of Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary, the Montfort Way, a friend encouraged me to join the Association of Mary, Queen of all Hearts. I would appreciate information on the Association; also, what I must do to become a member? Lastly, what does the membership imply?. What Must I Do To Join Mary, Queen Of All Hearts?

The Association of Mary, . . .

St. Louis de Montfort wrote his book on True Devotion to Mary, back around the year 1712. He expressed the hope that his Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary, or way of spiritual life, would one day be erected into a confraternity (Association). Almost two hundred years later, on March 25, 1899, the first Confraternity of Mary Queen of All Hearts was officially established by Archbishop Duhamel of Ottawa, Canada, at the request of the Montfort Community there. In 1913, it was raised to the rank of Archconfraternity, in Rome, by Pope St. Pius X, again at the request of the Montfort Community. Today, the Archconfraternity has over one hundred branches (Confraternities) attached to it worldwide. Later, it would change the name to The Association of Mary, Queen of All Hearts.

Its center is located in the Chapel of Regina Cordium, 44 via Romagna, 00187 Rome, Italy.  The United States center is located at the address at the bottom of this page.

The Association is a pious union of the faithful. In canonical terms, it is not an organic body. There are no officers or formal meetings of the Association. Although in some areas, as in Long Island, NY, for instance, the Association holds regular monthly meetings and/or religious services.

The purpose of the Association is to help its members to live and promote the Marian Way of life. This Montfort Way, as expounded in the writings of St. Louis de Montfort.  Members consist of priests, Religious and lay people. The Association is canonically affiliated to the Company of Mary (the Montfort Missionaries). Its members share in the good works and prayers of the members of the Company of Mary; as well as the Daughters of Wisdom (Montfort Sisters).

Return to The Queen: Q&A

In keeping with the purpose of the Association, the members should strive to enrich their spiritual lives with a Marian spirit— doing all things with Mary, through Mary, in Mary and for Mary in order to do them more perfectly with, through, in and for Jesus, Our Lord and Savior. They should renew their consecration faithfully and frequently making a special practice of renewing it at the beginning of each day. This can be done by renewing your Morning Offering or by the short formula composed by St. Louis de Montfort himself for this purpose: “I am all Yours and all that I have is Yours, O most loving Jesus, through Mary, Your holy Mother.”

Because St. Louis de Montfort highly recommends that we make a serious and thorough preparation before making this important Act of Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary, he outlined for us a 33-Day Preparation (True Devotion No. 227 sq.). To help people carry out our Saint’s suggestion, we here at Montfort Publications have published an easy-to use booklet entitled: PREPARATION FOR TOTAL
CONSECRATION according to Saint Louis Marie de Montfort (see Montfort Publication link here).

After completing your preparation as outlined in the book, fill out the enrollment card; or, use the enrollment process on our website.  With your membership leaflet, we will supply you with full information on the Feasts and Indulgences (see link here)  attached to the Association.  Additionally, we freely make available articles, audio and video media on our website for your own Spiritual Journey.  The Association will also send consecration anniversary reminder notices (there is a special indulgence available on your consecration anniversary day).  Lastly, we send periodic, often monthly emails announcing the Featured Media and / or Articles available for the upcoming month.

In joining Mary, Queen of All Hearts, you join a community of thousands striving to live and pray To Jesus Through Mary (Ad Jesus Per Mariam).
