Easter Sunday: Humanity Also Rises From the Tomb

Fr. Hugh Gillespie, SMM

Humanity Also Rises From the Tomb

Nobody  sees Jesus in the Gospel Easter account.

He did not appear to everyone. He was not seen by the world. The world saw Good Friday, but not the Risen Jesus. The first Easter morning . . . a woman arrived at the tomb, and it was still dark.

We all experience darkness. The woman saw something that sent the darkness away. The bolder was rolled away. The Lord was not there. The Lord rises and lifts us all with him out of the tomb. Humanity also rises out of the tomb. Understand the victory of Easter.
