Fr. Hugh Gillespie, SMM

If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. (Luke 9:23)

A Tool For Someone Struggling With Understanding the Spiritual Implications of Personal Crosses

The Holy Ways of the Cross

This Overview and Reflections of The Holy Ways of the Cross is important for every Christian to understand. It is important, not because it influenced the life of St. Louis de Montfort; it is important because the content is significant. All Christians are impacted with Trials. Every Christian will experience personal crosses. But why do we receive crosses? What does the Lord say?

If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. (Luke 9:23) It is this scripture that provides the context for this book. It is also what Jesus asks from all Christians that wish to truly follow Him, and to be His disciple.

This (74 minute) video provides an overview of the book and some specific reflections. Every Christian must understand this scripture. More so, it is important to understand this scripture if you practice Montfortian Spirituality. It is NOT necessary to have the book first, prior to viewing / listening to the video. It is our prayer that after viewing this video, you will indeed read the book and have in your hands a spiritual tool that influenced the life of St. Louis de Montfort.

Note: Before viewing this video, we encourage you to view a shorter 11-minute video that provides an introduction to the book.  That video may be found using this link.
