Pick up Your Daily Cross . . . and Follow Me!

Pick up Your Daily Cross

Do I Want to Follow Jesus . . . Or Not!

Each day during Lent, special graces are prayed for daily. And at the conclusion of Mass, the priest can say a special prayer over the congregation. These two prayers . . . at the beginning and end of Mass the Church calls upon particular graces to help us! Help us move through the Lenten Season. The audio goes on and explains this in detail, as well as how the week-day readings speak to one another. Listen to understand the daily graces and what it means for all of us!

The audio then explains the Responsorial Psalm. The Responsorial does not mean . . . the congregation’s response! In fact, the congregation’s response is actually optional! It is called the responsorial psalm because it is actually chosen in response to the first reading! Hear more in the audio!

The Homily then goes on and speaks about the opening and closing prayers that are said daily . . . for all those in attendance . . . and for all Catholics, because of life circumstances, cannot attend daily Mass. Nevertheless, many people in their homes are preparing themselves during the Lenten Season. Hear more within the audio.

. . . and Follow Me!

In the Homily, the audio speaks to life and death choices we all must make. In the first reading (not included within this audio), Moses asks the people just before entering the promise land . . . do you chose life or death? The people move from the desert to the promise land . . . from a hard life to something more comfortable. Moses asks the people . . . how will you live when you enter this land? Will you be like Adam and Eve . . . in paradise . . . and forgets the Lord? They chose death, not the life the Lord desires for them! Hear more what Moses tells the chosen people within this audio and its implication for the Lenten Season.

In the Gospel, the Son of Man must suffer and die. The Lord reveals to a few . . . what will happen. He does not reveal this to the crowd . . .but only to a few of His followers. Jesus makes things known to His followers . . . to those who know Him! The audio explains how this is true for the Apostles and for us! Jesus instructs us . . . to pick up your daily cross and follow Him!

Hear how we all have a choice . . . between life and death. Pick up your daily cross . . . and follow Me! Understand what really the Lord is asking from us! He never just says . . . if you wish to follow me pick up your cross. The Lord outlines a few things first! Understand this is the purpose of the Lenten Season!

What He asks means something. Mediate on this Lenten Message. Meditate on what Christian Discipleship really means!
