The Cross is, according to my belief, … the greatest mystery of Eternal Wisdom!

(St. Louis de Montfort)

After two brief Gospels surrounding why Jesus emptied Himself and became man, the Homily during the Mass gives us all meditation material on The Cross. The Homily begins with a story that describes when things falls in place for us during our lives, that it is a sign that the Lord has marked out for you. When one pays attention to the great saints, when everything is too easy, their response is not God is with me, but God where are you. This point is elaborated by a story about Fr. de Montfort. In the end of the story, he leaves his location saying we must leave this place. “The Cross is not here, and I will not found my work on any foundation other that The Cross of Jesus”.

The meaning behind these thoughts are further explained within this Homily. Saints do not measure how productive they are, but rather they look for the presence of The Cross in their work. The Feast celebrated is not the feast of carrying The Cross, or the suffering. Rather, it is the Feast of the Exaltation of The Cross. What does that mean and how should it apply to our daily lives is discussed in this 20 minute Spiritual Insight audio.

May our good Jesus through his most holy Mother keep you and protect you and your family.
