The Annunciation Series

In this series of Mary in the Gospel of Luke, we begin our study of the first scene in which Mary plays a role: the announcement of the birth of Jesus or as it is more commonly called, the Annunciation of the Lord (Lk 1:26-38). In these majestic verses, God describes for us the wondrous mystery of the Incarnation of the Eternal Wisdom in the womb of Mary. This section of Luke contains the core of the spirituality of Saint Louis de Montfort. The Eternal Wisdom of the Father becomes our redeemer-brother through the faith-filled consent of the Virgin Mary. It is on this solid scriptural Foundation that Louis de Montfort erects his edifice of total consecration to Jesus incarnate in Mary’s womb. Luke’s annunciation narrative is, therefore, of special importance to all who appreciate the teachings of Saint Louis de Montfort.
