Q&A: Does living the consecration preclude praying for special intentions or making novenas? Since I am a member of the Association  of Mary, Queen of All Hearts, is it possible to join other groups like the Militia of Mary Immaculate?

Praying for Special Intentions

Living Saint Louis de Montfort’s consecration does not preclude praying for special intentions. The condition always implied is that it be the will of Our Lady; which is always in conformity to the will of Our Blessed Lord.

Saint Louis de Montfort encourages us to be open and simple in our prayers, never hesitating to make known our petitions to the Lord. And that is why special novenas for particular intentions both to Mary and to other saints is not at all against the true spirit of living the consecration. It is always with Our Lady that we pray and the more we consciously renounce our own dispositions and take on those of Mary, the more powerful is our plea to our loving God. The saints especially are her loving children. We only honor her the more when we honor them; as we only honor Our Blessed Lord the more, the more we honor His Blessed Mother.

Joining the Association of Mary, Queen of All Hearts does not rule out belonging to other pious societies approved by the Church. We enter them with the spirit of Mary. Affiliation with them can only enhance our love for Christ and for His Body, the Church.
