Q&A: I do appreciate The Queen. However when I read the articles it seems to me that I’m no longer in the “real” world but in a beautiful make believe world where Jesus and Mary are actually known and loved. That’s not reality. I am a member of a religious community and can attest to the truth that Oar Lady is practically ignored within our community and in the Catholic school where I teach. Your magazine publication is great, but it is not where many of the parishes and religious communities are today.

Mary Known

Sister, thanks for the compliment! Where is the reality, the truth you speak of? Is it found in a parish or religious community which sadly ignores the inspired word of God and the teachings of the Church? Is the full reality of Gospel life found where Mary, the Mother of the Redeemer, is left aside? No way!

If the articles in The Queen bring you to the real world where Jesus and Mary are known and loved, we praise God! It’s a challenge to transform the fake you daily encounter into the evangelical reality of Jesus the Son of Mary. Your letter has more than a touch of frustration and discouragement, which is understandable.

However, if that frustration is muzzling your bold proclamation of the truth of the Incarnation – that God the Son becomes enfleshed in and through the redemptive, representative YES of Mary – then it is a calamity. God seems to be calling you to a new depth of life in Him, so that you may be a joyful, living, powerful voice of His truth to all whom you meet.
