H appy Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God and Happy New Year!

The Church’s Greeting on this day is not Happy New Year, but rather Merry Christmas! On this day the Church celebrates the octave day of Christmas. This is not normal language in the world.

But what do we really celebrate on this solemnity? On this day the world first knows of Jesus. It is the day the world knows Our Savior’s name. What else do we celebrate on this day? We also celebrate the joy of Mary! The Church says remain in the joy of the day. Hear more about Mary on this day!

The world celebrates New Year’s Day. But what does the church celebrate? This Gospel and Homily discusses this day. Listen to the Homily and meditate on what the Church celebrates on this day.

Queen of All Hearts’ prayers are for a Blessed New Year for you and your family!
