Immaculate Conception: Why Was Mary Free From Sin?

The feast celebrated today is a feast of Jesus Christ and Our Lady. What does the feast mean about Our Lady? It means that from the first instance of her life, Our Lady was free from sin. Why? Why was Our Lady free from sin? The answer, involves you and me. Why free from sin? Because Jesus is coming! He comes to save you and me. He comes . . . for you!

In the first reading, we hear about Adam and Eve. Man, who was in perfect harmony, is no longer because of Adam and Eve’s sin. Because you have sin, and in speaking to the serpent, God says He will put enmity between the serpent and THE WOMAN. Man cannot save himself because of his sin. God will save the world through THE WOMAN. Hear about The WOMAN and THE SON. Listen to this homily about THE SON’s victory over the serpent.

Hear about the importance of this Feast. Listen to a discussion about the importance of Our Lady. God does not see our salvation, without seeing Our Lady! God does not see His Son come into the world, without seeing her! Before Our Lady is even born, she is part of our salvation. This is why we honor her. The Lord has given her to the world within His saving plan.

Our Lady is sinless and is a suitable place for the Lord to first dwell. Our Lady’s Immaculate Conception is Our Lord’s first touch in our salvation victory.

Listen to the Gospel and Homily on the Immaculate Conception and meditate on how great a Feast this really is in the history of the world!
