The Third Sunday of Advent : Rejoice in the Great Joy of Salvation

W hat is celebrated on the third Sunday of Advent?

Why should we be joy-filled? Its not Christmas! The Lord has not come, so why should we be joy-filled? This Gospel and Homily was held outdoors, in beautiful sunlight on a warm December day. Human happiness does not last. However, joy is everlasting. Hear why this Sunday is celebrated with joy!

On this day, the readings focus on St. John the Baptist. He was not anything … but a voice crying out in the wilderness. St. John the Baptist is a voice announcing the coming and presence of the Lord. He is with us today … every day we celebrate Mass. His words proclaims the Lord … everyday we celebrate Mass. Listen to more about how St. John the Baptist impacts our lives. Hear more about the joy of this day and what indeed we celebrate.
