C elebrating Fr. de Montfort’s Humbleness to Christ

I Take You O Maria As My Everything

Hear about Fr. de Montfort’s Last Sermon and His Humbleness

Fr. de Montfort died as he lived … he was on a mission. As he was near death, on the same day he died, he pulled himself out bed, summoning all his strength to preach one last time. On that day, people who heard Fr. de Montfort would be preaching came wide and far, for they were touched by this man … who could barely stand. He spoke that day of the Tenderness and the Goodness of Christ, who from His Cross, saves us all. He touched many hearts, both on that day and throughout his life. Fr. de Montfort would say it was not he who touched hearts, but the Goodness of Christ.

When he died, and was laid out in a parish, thousands of people came from the country side to see Fr. de Montfort and pay last respects. Those that felt the touch of grace through his life, through his preaching, through his example and teaching … came to see him.
