He whose beauty ravishes
All the saints in Glory,
Dwells on our altars day and night,
Hidden in our tabernacle.
The All-Powerful, in His grandeur
One with God His Father,
Is present in this mystery
To ravish our hearts.

Hymn #129

St. Louis de MontfortSelected Verses: Published by Montfort Publications

Often overlooked, the opening prayer at Mass asks the Lord for something. It is asked for all and for the individuals that attend Mass. Its is not only a prayer the priest makes, but the Church makes at every Mass. Almighty and ever living God, grant that our will always conform to Your will. This prayer is contrary to the human heart. The human hearts struggles because humans normally ask God to conform or fulfill our own will. It is indeed a human struggle. The desire to bend the will of the Lord to our will, or what we desire.

The great desire of the Christian heart is not that the Lord grant my request, but my heart learns to respond to the request of God. The will of God. The call of God. Hear more about the importance of this prayer at Mass in this spiritual audio.
