Celebrating Mary’s Immaculate Heart: Featured Media of the Month

Featured Media of the Month: June

You must offer yourself to Mary, happily lose yourself in her, only to find God in her. (St. Louis de Montfort SM 70)

In June we continue to honor Mary and the Feast of the Immaculate Heart (June 9th, 2018). We also select three special Featured Media of the Month. We hope you include these special media as part of your Spiritual Pilgrimage.

May our good Jesus through his most Holy Mother keep you and protect you and your family.

AD JESUM PER MARIAM
(For Jesus Through Mary)

Just a few notes before discussing the Featured Media of the Month. Periodically, the Association of Mary sends out emails to the Queen of All Hearts members. We request members to keep their email current. If there are any changes, please send them via email to us. Second, announcements and featured media for the month descriptions may be found under the QoAH News menu selection. Please refer to this page often for the latest news.

Lastly, under the Spiritual Insights menu, there is the New Media – Inventory and FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page. This page was added in May, since nearly two dozen individual media files were added in May alone. To keep track of the newly added media, this page contains a New Media section, with the titles and a brief description. There is also a full inventory section, which will display the full list of titles by media area. Lastly, we added a FAQ section to capture questions members have asked that others might find relevant.

We continually strive to make this ever growing spiritual website fresh and easy to navigate and understand. If you have suggestions, feel free to indicate so via return member email. Thank you.

The Secret of Mary Video

Here is a secret, chosen soul, which the most High God taught me. (St. Louis de Montfort SM1)

The Secret of Mary was written as a letter to a religious Sister. St. Louis de Montfort states that our vocation in life is holiness. It is not priesthood, or marriage or single life. These are merely the means one uses to obtain holiness. All our actions, our thoughts, and words must be performed with this goal in mind – to obtain and live our lives in holiness. To do so, we must obtain grace from God.

How do we obtain this grace (SM6)? Fr. de Montfort continues, that to find grace, we must find Mary. True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin is indispensable (SM23). This perfect devotion was practiced by very few in the times of St. Louis de Montfort. Indeed, even today, one could say the same.

But the Practice of Devotion to Mary consists of surrendering oneself in the manner of a slave to Mary, and to Jesus through her, and then performing all our actions Through Mary, With Mary, In Mary, and For Mary (SM28).

Fr. Hugh Gillespie, SMM walks us through St. Louis de Montfort’s teachings on the Secret of Mary in this seven part video.

Every Christian should view this video and read the Secret of Mary if they take their spiritual life seriously. We also recommend viewing and reading The Secret of Mary, prior to beginning the Total Act of Consecration. Beginning to understand the teaching of St. Louis de Montfort is a fundamental requirement, prior to pursuing consecration. As such, every QoAH member should view the Secret of Mary Video, and follow along with the Secret of Mary book.

This video is the first step along the recommended Spiritual Journey roadmap. We been told many have read this book over the years. However, we encourage members to, at least once, read the book in tandem with the video. Each paragraph of the book is discussed and explained in a way that likely would not be achieved or received by just reading the book alone. If you have already read and viewed the Secret of Mary, you may find that a revisit reveals additional insights not previously gleamed.

We hope you enjoy these treasures.

Spiritual Insight: How Long Has the Blessed Mother Been Involved in Your Salvation?

When did the world first know of Mary’s role in our salvation? The Annunciation? We’ll, no. That was when Mary first found out her role (or a portion of it). Mary’s Immaculate Conception? No. That was when her parents found out, and it was not fully revealed to them her full role. So when did God first reveal His plan for our Blessed Mother to the world? This short (about 15 minute) Spiritual Insight audio tells us the unveiling actually happened at the falling of Adam and Eve.

How do we know this? Before there was the New Testament, and before there were the Gospels, we had the Old Testament. The audio references a passage from Genesis (3:15) that is known as the Gospel before there were Gospels. Hear how the plan for Our Blessed Mother was first revealed, and what it means to our Spiritual Prayer Life.

This audio is an excerpt from the Conference Audio: Transformation of the Heart. The audio begins (the first two minutes) with Fr. de Montfort Spirituality, which sets the discussion before talking about Revealing the Plan. We hope you’ll listen to this audio and the full conference. We believe it will impact your Spiritual Journey.

Conference Audio: Devotion to Mary: Transformation of the Heart

Recently, the Community of Montfort Priests, SMM, gave a Parish Consecration retreat to parishioners who will be making their Total Consecration in Maryland. This Conference Audio contains three separate conferences. The first is entitled: I Am All Yours…. Part of the prayer one says to Mary when making the Act of Consecration, and many members say a shorten prayer daily that includes this phrase. But what does it mean? The point of this conference is this prayer should not only include what one can actively do and give, but what one no longer can do and give. Hear the story of Fr. John and the Three Hands of the Mother of God to more fully understand the meaning of I Am All Yours.

Conference #2 is entitled: Transformation of the Heart.
It is commonly said that Devotion to Mary and saying the Holy Rosary is for women. Devotion to Mary performed precisely, transforms a man into an Apostolic man. Not just a man who is serious about faith. But a man that is stepping forward in the service of the gospel. An apostolic man.

This conference audio talks about St. John, Jesus’ beloved friend and the only Apostle found at the foot of The Cross on Good Friday. The speaker discusses holiness and the characteristics of a saint. He relays the story of how his (St. John’s) mother disrupts Jesus and asks for both her sons (John and James) to sit at each of Jesus’ sides when He comes into His reign The bible tells us this and other stories about St. John before Holy Thursday and Easter Sunday. Fr. Hugh tells us the difference between the actions of St. John is Jesus. Specifically, the transformation of his heart. In this audio this story helps us all to connect to the Devotion to Mary and the Transformation of our Hearts.

Conference #3 is entitled: Devotion to Mary.
Devotion to Mary is necessary, indeed a requirement, in all Christians’ lives. That is correct: a Requirement. Without it, our Christian and spiritual life will be lacking. Fr. de Montfort states Devotion to Mary is so important, and we must possess it in the right way. This audio informs us if our devotion is solid and genuine, our spiritual life will be so as well. It also elaborates on meditation of Mary; the more we meditate on her glory and virtues, the more our hearts will grow for her. How do we do this? This is explained in Conference #3.

Fr Hugh also gives us five “markers”, or guide posts, or milestones to help us with our Devotion and with our Spiritual Prayer Life. He does so, because, its difficult to find a spiritual director. While this discussion does not replace a spiritual director, it will help each of us on our own Spiritual Journey and in our own Spiritual Prayer Life.

We hope you listen to this Conference Audio during the month of June.
