Easter Sunday: The Joy of Easter, is the Joy of Jesus Christ First, and Then it’s Ours

St. Peter talks in the first reading about the witnesses chosen in advance to the Resurrection of Jesus.

Mary Magdalene went to the tomb on Easter morning. When she saw the empty tomb, she ran to tell the disciples the news. Upon hearing it, John and Peter ran to the tomb to see for themselves. John arrived first, scripture tells us, but he did not initially enter.  Then Peter arrives. Easter sets lives in motion. Today, this is no less true. We attend Mass on Easter because of the greatness of today.

When the Lord looked across history, before we were even born, he saw us all attending Mass on Easter, because of the greatness of the day. He saw you. Because that is the reason, He endured The Cross. He saw you! The Joy of Easter, is the Joy of Jesus Christ first, and then it’s ours. Hear more within the Homily.
