Do You Really Want External Happiness? Do You Really Want to Be a Disciple?

Do You Really Want External Happiness? Do You Really Want to Be a Disciple?

In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us who can be His disciples . . . who can follow Him.

The Gospel begins with a great crowd following Jesus. Jesus at times in scripture leaves a message for the entire world. In this case the message was directed to the crowd following Him . . . who have been moving with Jesus.

This crowd has been growing in numbers . . . and Jesus addresses this crowd saying now you are ready for what I have to say to you. The Gospel teaches us . . . who is my disciple? A disciple is a follower. What does it really mean to be a follower of Jesus? What does it mean to be a disciple? Jesus tells us. Hear more in the Homily.

Part of discipleship requires a personal investment of oneself. If you want to be the Lord’s disciple, you must choose a way. Hear more about what it means to be a true disciple and follower of Jesus.
