Does Montfort’s Consecration Bind One Under the Pain of Sin?
No, Montfort Consecration does not bind under pain of sin. It is an act that is made freely to Christ through our Blessed Lady. It may be retracted at any time, although it is difficult to understand why anyone would want to do so. That, however, is a matter of personal choice.
Look at the Montfort Consecration as a loving act of dedication to Christ and Our Lady, something you do freely because you wish to give them as much as you can and to draw as close to them as possible.
The Montfort Consecration does not bind under pain of sin because it has not been ordered by the laws of God or of the Church.
