Be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect!

Jesus says, be perfect. It is demanding and challenging. Jesus is speaking on two levels. The first is aspirational. Aspire to be perfect!

The second level: do more than aspire. Actually, try and do it. The Homily explains further on both levels what Jesus is demanding. Jesus is not saying be absolutely flawless tomorrow. Hear exactly what Jesus is demanding and the implications for us and our spiritual journey.

Be better than the world around you! Wow. What a statement! Think about it. Many Christians are no better than the world around us, yet Jesus tells us something else. Jesus then goes on and tells us how we can be different than the world. Jesus tells us what can make you perfect.
