Announcement: Two Events at the Shrine

The Holy Ways of the Cross and The Annunciation

March 24th Event: The Holy Ways of the Cross

For those that can make a pilgrimage to the Shrine, on March 24, Fr. Gillespie, SMM, an editor and contributor to the book, will hold a conference on The Holy Ways of the Cross.  This book, translated from French to English, was available to Fr. de Montfort in his early spiritual formative days.  Hear how Henri-Marie Boudon influenced the French School of Spirituality . . . and St. Louis de Montfort.

The following was taken from the back cover of the book.

____________________________

The Cross of Christ, writes Henri-Marie Boudon, is “the great masterpiece of the wisdom of God”.  Far exceeding the readers human reasoning, this masterpiece is intelligible only in the light of faith. In this light, Christians can approach the Cross, despise not the weight of their own crosses, and joyfully follow the way of the Lord.

An ideal representation of the French School of spirituality, The Holy Ways of the Cross combines the manifold fruits of theology, mysticism, and pastoral care in guiding its readers along “the Royal Highway of the Cross,” through trials both exterior and interior, toward unity with God.  Complimented by new, illuminating, Introductions from Andrew L. Ouellette and Rev. Hugh Gillespie, SMM., The Holy Ways of the Cross proffers spiritual food and drink for the souls following in the footsteps of their crucified Lord.

March 25th Event: The Feast of The Annunciation

“The first mystery of Jesus Christ, the most hidden, the most exalted, the least known.”

(St. Louis de Montfort’s True Devotion: 248 )

If one has made the Act of Total Consecration, and does not have devotion to this Feast day, then that person … simply, did not make the Act of Total Consecration according to St. Louis de Montfort. It is impossible to do one, without the other! The Feast of the Annunciation, or as St. Louis de Montfort called it, the Feast of the Incarnation, is not a feast day of Our Lady. Oh yes, she is critical in the events we celebrate. However, the feast, is actually a feast honoring Our Lord. For some, it is the greatest of all the Mysteries, the Word becoming Flesh. There is a Marian aspect to it, of course. But it is the day the Lord begins to reveal Himself to the world. But the world will not see Him yet. The world will see Mary.

Come celebrate the feast day at the Shrine.  As is the custom on Fridays during Lent, the Stations of the Cross in Union With Mary will be prayed. This version of the Stations was written by a priest from the Company of Mary specifically for members of the Queen of All Hearts. Join us for Mass and the Stations.
