Illuminating Our Relationship With the Lord Like Moses

Illuminating Our Relationship
Moses had a very unique relationship with the Lord. His skin shown so bright that people could not bear to look at him directly, after he spoke to the Lord, and after he prayed. He was partially illuminous.
Prayer in front of the Lord changes people. There is a luminosity that is only achieved in prayer. Moses experienced it. Moses used to hide his face when he spoke to people. However, he never hid his face in front of the Lord. The radiance is the result of coming into the presence of the Lord.
Our prayer can be contrast with Moses. Often, Christians in their prayer, as they approach God, try to represent themselves as something better than what we really are. We try to focus in our prayer, often unsuccessfully. Yet we try to focus hoping that God will recognize this heighten awareness in our prayer. God sees everything! Including what we cover over in our lives.
Moses recognizes this. He doesn’t try to cover up in front of the Lord. Moses has a luminous face, because he doesn’t cover up his heart! Listen to how proper prayer, with the right love and attitude within the heart, in front of the Lord can dramatically change one’s relationship with the Lord.
