The Lord Shows Us on His Cross What Sin Does to the Human Heart

The Lord Shows Us

W here I go you can not come!

The one who sent me, is with me. He has not left me alone. Because He spoke like this, many became to believe.

One of the great complaints of the Lord is even though they have seen all my works, they still want me to prove myself. This was true at the time of Jesus, as it was in the time of Moses.

In the homily, many signs of God are revealed. However, the tendency of humans is to take for granted the great signs and the great gifts that come from heaven. The human heart, especially when it becomes scared, does not remember what has already been done. The glory of what has taken place, is pushed aside or forgotten. The heart only asks, show me something … so I may come to believe.

The story of Moses in the desert, when the people turned away from God is retold in the Homily. Listen to how man’s heart turned away from God, and how, for some, they turned to God once again. They did so, because they saw a sign.

During Passiontide, the Lord speaks about being lifted up. Why? So that all will look up. The Lord will be lifted up before mankind, and we must look at Him. The Lord shows us on His Cross, the reality of fallen man. He shows us what sin leads to in this world. Hear how sin destroys our hearts.
